Food at Higher Lank Farm Food at Higher Lank Farm is prepared to order from scratch with the best ingredients Lucy is able to buy! Apart from our welcome supper on a Saturday, the menu changes daily to accommodate the needs of our guests and seasonal availability. We are very happy to cater for special diets, and are used to cooking dairy and gluten free for toddlers and their parents. All our food is home-made with, wherever possible local ingredients. The only exception being our ice-cream which comes from Callestick and Roskilly Farms. Supper is available Saturday, Monday and Friday evenings. Nursery teas are served Saturday, Monday, Tuesday and Friday evenings. Tractor and Trailer family supper Wednesday (Weather permitting! If not possible, we will move this event to another night or offer supper and nursery teas instead). Nursery teas – often include the following: All nursery teas are varied daily to reflect the likes and dislikes of the children staying. We have a no chips policy, as you can get these anywhere!! But are happy to cook anything else. Just ask. Our suggested nursery tea for your first night would be sausages (meat or veggie), mashed potatoes, broccoli, carrots and gravy - let us know if this is not suitable. Click here to choose and pre-order your Welcome Supper As traditional English farmers, we believe that the food we serve you should be produced locally, in order to conserve the beautiful environment in which we live, keep food miles to the minimum and support our local community. The food we cook for you is, whenever possible, produced on the farm ourselves or produced by nearby farms and delivered to us. The beef we serve is from our suckler herd and the pork from our Gloucester Old Spots and Saddlebacks. All our animals have a high quality of life, as you will see during your stay, and are reared outdoors. And of course, eggs are from our own free-range chickens. We grow seasonal fruit and vegetables in our vegetable garden, greenhouse and orchard. Although we are not registered organic, we use no fertilizers or chemicals in the production of our fruit and vegetables and only very limited amounts of fertilizer on our fields. We participate in the Countryside Stewardship scheme. All our dairy products and fruit juices are delivered to us by Bradley’s Dairy, a farm in Delabole. Our bacon and chicken comes from Button Meats, who source their products locally, and our ice-cream is supplied by Roskillys, another diversified Cornish farm. We use organic produce, when produced in this country or in Europe, but never purchase air freighted goods. We believe that it is better to buy local produce from a known source than imported organic fruit and vegetables. We are committed to only buying British meat.
All of Higher Lank Farm is NO SMOKING and so child friendly |
