Eco-friendly Higher Lank Farm is now producing green energy via our own Biomass Boiler system, currently fuelled from locally sourced (Glyn Valley) woodlands and by 2014 with wood from our own woodlands.

The Farmhouse
We welcome real nappy users and provide nappy buckets and a free nappy laundry service for guests.
Since 2004, in partnership with the Cornish Real Nappy Campaign, we have been able to offer guests who would like to try real nappies an opportunity to do so. Guests can borrow, free of charge, a selection of real nappies for the duration of their stay with us and we will give advice and help while you are with us, and even wash them free of charge! The aim of our partnership with the Real Nappy Campaign is to help reduce the amount of landfill comprised of nappy waste in Cornwall and, if we can persuade you of the benefits, in the counties you live in too.
For information on the benefits of real nappies for you, your baby and the environment, contact:

We are hoping to start a wormery, so that we can offer compostable disposable nappies for sale to guests. For information on compostable nappies please contact:

To minimise land fill waste, we also operate a recycling system and provide bins for newspaper, plastics, bottles, cardboard and vegetable and fruit waste for guests’ use.
We also use refillable pump dispensers for hand and body washes and wash towels on alternate days (unless guests request otherwise) in order to minimize environmental damage.

The Nursery Rhyme Barns
Our barn conversions are being completed with environmental issues in mind. We have used highest U value insulation available, installed underfloor heating to save on oil consumption and wood burning stoves that will burn logs from our woods. Electrical appliances are ‘A’ rated for efficiency.
We also operate a recycling programme in the barns and can offer a laundry service for real nappy users who do not want to wash their own nappies.
Green Travel
We welcome guests who wish to travel by train. We are happy to pick up from Bodmin Parkway Station and to arrange bicycle hire for the duration of your stay. Visit www.gobycycle.co.uk to see the large selection of bikes available for hire.
